Up for sale is a Yaesu FT 871ND HW/VHF/UHF QRP
transceiver
This is a multi-mode portable transceiver covering the HF, VHF and UHF bands.
Unit is specified to output 5 watts on all HF bands, plus the 50 MHz, 144 MHz, and 430 MHz bands,
Operating modes are USB/LSB/CW/AM/FM/Packet/PSK-31/RTTY.
History of this particular unit:
Unit purchased here on Ebay, as “parts only / not working”.
Unit powers up, is functional / operational and has been tested on 2M and 70cm, both transmit and receive. However, operation on HF bands has not been verified.
Additions to unit since purchase:
Purchase / installation of SOTAbeams DCPowerpole Adapter for Yaesu FT-817 and FT-818 Transceivers PP-817-818.
Please note:
even with the installation of the Powerpole adapter, the unit still requires a separate DC ground connection, as shown in pictures.
This is thought to be due to intermittent /faulty connection on the GND side on the female connection, internal to theunit.
Unit was opened to diagnose but not repaired due to limited space / small circuit board features.
Due to no testing on HF bands, ‘make shift’ solution for GND side of DC power, unit is being sold “parts only / not working”.
Unit being sold as I have acquired other HF equipment and simply do not have need for this unit, but would like to see it go to a good home.
