    Description

Up for auction is a tested working MFJ-9030 CW transceiver. This is a semi-QSK QRP rig that is great for portable operation from a 12-volt battery.
It appears that this model is no longer available from MFJ Enterprises, so here is an opportunity to purchase this hard-to-find rig.
This is a compact unit measuring approximately 6-1/2” W x 2-1/2” H x 6” D. It features a built-in speaker and includes RIT.  It features very smooth Vernier tuning across the entire band from 10.100 to 10.150 MHz.
Output is slightly above 4 watts, as seen in photo # 2 (Econo tuner & dummy load are not included in this auction).
Frequency coverage is 10.100-10.150. Receiver features a superhet design with a tight CW bandwidth crystal ladder filter. It also includes a narrow-band filter, selected on the rear panel. Note this switch is somewhat flakey; I found if you push it several times, the contacts connect. I would have cleaned the contacts with DeOxit, but the switch appears sealed.
I connected this rig to my R7 antenna and noted the tuning is sharp and reception is clear. The RIT function worked as it should.
The previous owner modified this transceiver by removing the Iambic jack and pot; and installed a jack for DC output to feed auxiliary equipment. Note: it does not include the Iambic keyer module that was never installed.
I noted the calibration of this radio is good. I used a signal from my Icom 7300 rig and found when transmitting on 10.100, the MFJ tuning dial read approximately 10.103. When transmitting on 10.150, the MFJ dial read approximately 10.151.
Radio will be packed well with bubble-wrap and peanuts for a safe delivery.
I am including a copy of the MFJ manual (see the last two photos for a couple of pages from the manual).
