    This Ranger I is wiring version I ( This Ranger will be converted to wiring version II (with keyer/bias sub panel and PTT) as part of the rebuild process.

    Rebuild Complete
    * Overhaul/rebuild started
    * Unit disassembled to chassis
    * VFO Module overhaul complete, module tested.
    * Front Panel Repaint ( and eventually re-decal) complete and cured.
    * These Rangers are pretty gnarly to start with, so we clean, sand the chassis, flush all the shmoo out of the works before beginning our rebuild.
    * If you want to put your name on the list for this unit, a small deposit (usd) is required. Once a deposit is received, we configure the item description so there are no other bidders.
    * Chassis cleaned, sanded, de-greased.
    * Re-wound L6A.
    * Re-work SW-3A interface connections.
    * Replaced all tube sockets: Mil grade ceramic in RF string, Amphenol phenolic & other phenolic in remainder.
    * Installed cork cushions beneath L6 and L 11A
    * New (refurbished) terminal strips installed in all positions.
    * Install new rubber grommets all required locations.
    * Power Transformer and HV choke mounted
    * AC Input filter components installed
    * Under-chassis re-wire in process: we generally start with the speech amp/modulator and work across the chassis to the "rats -nest".
    * Modulation and audio input transformer installed
    * Rebuild ( with new ceramic wafer) VFO/Crystal select switch.
    * Re-work "rats nest" & mode switch wiring. Corrected mis-wirings and defective solder joints.
    * Installed and wired (correctly for Mode 2 wiring) VFO / Crystal selector switch
    * Installed and wired VFO interface terminal strip
    * Installed and partially wired the circuit interface socket.
    * Completed wiring of microphone amplifier section
    * Tested Xtal Osc circuit, tested metering
    * Installed and tested PTT module
    * Installed and tested Keyer & Adjustable Bias circuit
    * Replaced meter switch with new ceramic switch.
    * Metering tested: OSC, BUF, GRID
    * Installed PA Plate circuit components

    * Rebuilt and installed PA coarse loading switch
    * Installed PA Fine loading variable capacitor

    * 6/2/22; Modulator section functional test, Mod Idle IP set, Feedback Circuit tested
    * RF Power test on 40 meters with crystal input

    * 6/3/22: Installed and tested VFO module.
    * Installed VFO module shroud
    * Tested VFO input and "spot" function.
    * Panel decal installation complete. Decals "cure" for 24 hours then we overcoat panel with a semi-gloss clear enamel (three coats)

    ***** This unit is equipped with PTT ( Push to talk), therefore tune up and transmit will not work unless the PTT  circuit is energized. A "test" switch is provided on the PTT module to energize the PTT circuit when the unit is out of the case and a microphone with PTT switch may be connected to the MIC connector. ****<~~~~~~
