This listing is for a kit of new Parts for replacing Q25, D22 & D23 on the Control Unit
Access is fairly easy.  Just under the top cover towards the rear on the right hand side near the case.  You’ll find two torid coils near a relay next to the Orange colored POT’s.  The board does not have to be removed if you’re skillful with a soldering iron.
The transistor is TOSHIBA brand and the Pin Diodes are an OEM equivalent replacement selected for even more protection against RF Overload with twice the reverse voltage withstanding rating.
The three original parts are frequently damaged during RF Overload or static discharge.  They control the muting circuit and your receive will be low or deaf without attenuation.  Sometimes the attenuator can be used which will restore reception but at a lower signal level.  When this
condition exists, its always an indicator that these parts have sustained damage.
Difficultly level is intermediat.  Small soldering iron and magnification are recommended.
The feeling of fixing your own radio after damage from RF-Overload is substantial.
