1939 Sears Service Station Long Beach CA Photo Cross Country Oil Allstate Tires

This auction is for an old photograph of a Sears Service Station in Long Beach, California. These came in a group of photos that all showed Sears stores or service stations and many showed buildings under construction. All the photos were from the 1920s thru 1940s. These are old photos from the 1920s - 40s and not reprints. The photo measures 7-7/8" x 9-3/4" . The photos were applied to canvas and there is an additional 1" x 8" canvas flap on the left edge. In the lower right corner is says "Retail Store Building - Fifth and American Ave, Long Beach, Calif. - Sears Roebuck & Co., Owners - Ford J. Twaits Co, Construction Engineers - John Stokes Redder, Architect - Oliver G. Bowen, Structural Engineer - Date 12-1-39" The lettering on the side of the building is "Allstate Tires". The lettering above the service bays is "Cross Country Oil Changing Service". Hanging banners in the service bays are: "Allstate Crusader Tires - 1st Tire at List Price, 2nd Tire at .99" and "Battery Sale". The photo is in fair condition - there is a light smudge in the sky above the station - the photo is attached to canvas - there is a 1-1/4" diagonal crease in the upper left hand corner of the photo along with a couple light stains on the border above the crease - the bottom 1" of the photo has a stain (visible on the back) from getting wet and wavy on the bottom 1" - there are two light 1" smudges on the car by the building side window - there are a few smaller marks on the photo. A NICE SEARS SERVICE STATION PHOTO FROM 1939!
